Georgia’s eVisa system simplifies travel procedures for tourists, business travellers, and medical visitors. It was officially launched on February 10, 2015, and allows applicants to obtain their visa online without visiting a consular office.
Georgia offers six distinct types of eVisas:
Tourism: For leisure travel and exploring culture, history, and natural attractions.
Business/Professional: For meetings, market research, and investment exploration.
Visiting Family and Relatives: For visiting friends or family and spending time with loved ones.
Study & Training (≤ 90 days): For attending short-term courses or training programmes.
Health & Medical Care: For receiving medical treatment or undergoing procedures.
Religion/Pilgrimages: For visiting religious sites and experiencing spiritual heritage.
Applicants must provide:
Document 1: Passport Bio Page
In addition to having at least two blank pages for visa stamping, your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond the duration of your intended stay in Georgia.
Document 2: Applicant’s Photo
You must submit a recent digital photograph taken within the last six months.
The photo should be in colour, feature a plain white or off-white background, and clearly show a full-faced, front-facing view with a neutral expression.
Please note that scanned copies or printed passport-size photos will not be accepted.
The data page, commonly known as the biographic page, in your passport contains your travel ID. This includes:
Personal Details: Your full name, photo, date of birth, and place of birth.
Passport Information: Your passport number, issue date, expiry date, and the issuing authority.
Tourist eVisa: Valid for either 120 or 180 days from the issue date, with a maximum stay of either 30 or 90 days.
Business eVisa: Also valid for 120 or 180 days, with a maximum stay of 30 or 90 days.
No, the eVisa is not extendable. For stays longer than 90 days (or 30 days, depending on your visa type), you must apply for a regular visa through the relevant embassy or consulate.
